©2012 Vision Isaiah 58 for Homeless, Inc. Involve Involve Your Bible Study The boy in the video link had been away from his family for 3 years! He had run away, and became a “street kid”. He was picked up by authorities and put in detention. A local Bible Study care group was supporting gospel workers to go as volunteer teachers into the detention center. There, they showed God’s love to 200 street kids. Most were afflicted with scabies, and feeling abandoned. This boy responded to the gospel, and the government gave our workers permission to take the boy home. One of the Bible Study members shown in the video, helped take the child to his home in the province. It was an investment of time, and effort with eternal results! The Dad had thought his son was lost or dead, but now he had returned to honor his parents. He got back to school, and never returned to the streets. Back Involve Your Friends Ember was a 30 plus year old mother of one child, and trying to deal with personal daily problems and challenges. She was busy. But, she couldn’t help notice 2 homeless families, since she passed them daily in her vehicle. A friend of Vision Isaiah told us about Ember, and her burden for these families. Then, with some advice, assistance, and counsel, Ember began to make friends with these families. She persisted to help them. She shared her burden with her friends, and raised some finances to send one family back to the far away province, and was able to get the second family into a rented apartment. She was relieved that the children were now safe from passing motorists! She continued to counsel the family, that responded to Bible Study. The father found employment at a construction site, and plans were begun for them to shoulder the full budget of renting and paying utilities. Finally, a local church pastor began to take interest in the family, and they began to attend that church. As scripture teaches, Ember’s labor for these souls was not in vain, and God continues to guide Ember’s life, in her personal walk with God. She continues to take interest in the needy, including a desire to help stop the trafficking of children! Back Involve Your Church One Brother in Christ viewed a mission presentation, and inquired about having the same presentation for his church. The Pastor, and leaders responded to the presentation at the church, and asked for assistance to begin their first ministry outreach to the poor. It is ongoing and fruitful! As more church members are trained in evangelism, more souls can be led to Christ. As the Bible says, “stir one another up to love and good works”. Those who are kind to the poor lend to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done. (Pr 19:17) Back Involve Your Business One OFW sending business, now involves their staff and trainees in evangelistic outreach. After an intro- presentation, they were willing to attend a training seminar. Praise God for Christ-Centered Owners and Businesses, who care for the poor. Back Involve Your Youth Group We have had youth caring for children of homeless families, while adults are ministered to. Other youth have scouted for homeless people, and brought them in for a special event. Other youth were led to Christ while still children, and now are leading evangelistic outreach to their peers in communities, and schools. God wants to raise up caring shepherds, and soul winners! Back Involve Your Family Do you want your children to please God when they grow up? Challenge them while they are young to involve in ministry to the poor. They can assist in a variety of ways, and be such a great blessing! Back Involve Your Seminary We have had volunteers from 3 different Metro-Manila Seminary/Bible Schools. There are many possible ways for their involvement and leadership development. You could inquire about us making a Presentation or Seminar Back Involve Your Government There is a road authority in Metro Manila, called MMDA. They have authority to clear sidewalks, and disperse homeless people. There is however a proper way to do that. We got word that some of the MMDA men were taunting the homeless, taking their personal belongings, including the school items of children. That prompted us to go to the MMDA headquarters where we were able to speak with a high up authority. Being a Christian man, himself, he advised us to contact him immediately, if there are further problems. He went on to say he personally wants to involve in helping the homeless as a Christian. His last words were: “invoke the command of God upon me” and remind me, if I fail to involve! Praise God for authorities who fear God, and want to do things God’s way! Back Be a Big Brother or Big Sister From one large church that primarily outreaches to university students, a few men in their twenties began to involve in outreach to youth from a “squatter” area nearby the church. Their involvement increased with God’s compassion, as they became big brother “kuyas” to the boys. On weekends they began to invest a portion of their paychecks to cover merienda friendship meals with the boys they were leading to Christ and making disciples. Isaiah in chapter 58, calls for the giving of ourselves, involving an investment of finances, time, and genuine care. The rewards are eternal. The fruit is ongoing! Please let us know if you are interested to be a big brother or big sister to children from poverty. Back Be a Fund Raiser Raising funds for ministry to the poor, is an important Biblical task. Serving in this way, helps in immense ways. Please contact us if you are interested. We can discuss ways to go about this. The gospel bookmarks, and 2 Roads Booklets may be utilized for this purpose, and for evangelistic outreach and training.  God will surely bless someone willing to involve in such humble and rewarding tasks. There was one boy from West Virginia who responded after hearing stories about the plight of street kids in Manila. He asked his parents to send his last 5 dollars. We were able to email to him, and share that the money was used to buy soap and meds for one new street kid we had just met, whose hands and body had sores from scabies. The street kid has probably never forgotten the generosity, in his time of need. Likewise, the drug store employees, who rarely witness God’s love and care for street children. Back Learn to Preach Preaching the gospel to the poor is something every Christian should and can do, unless you have a speech impediment. Most of us find it easy to share news regarding sports, politics, entertainment, relatives, and so forth. We ought to be most proficient and zealous to share the good news to people in need! For those volunteering in ministry to the poor, it is our aim, to help volunteers gain confidence, overcome embarrassments, and become bold by the power of The Holy Spirit and love of God, to lead people to Christ. This evangelistic fire, can overflow into your church, family, relatives and business. As Jesus has proclaimed: “out of your inner most being shall flow rivers of living water” Back Mission Trips to Manila Two teenage boys came alone on a plane to Manila from NJ. Their parents had sent them, hoping their experience in ministry here would awaken them to their own spiritual needs, and grow in Christ. They were quite shy at first, but after a few days, they were going the extra mile, abiding in God’s love for homeless families, and individuals sleeping on the side streets. They decided to use their expertise with computers in making a video. Three American men came to Manila on short term mission back in year 2005. They were humble enough to make songs and drama skits for children. Before long, children, youth and parents were gathering in the slum areas, to hear the presentations, with many turning to Christ. The one man, while here on mission, felt he had heard God speak to him about making a marriage proposal to a certain Christian woman when he returns to America. Low and behold, she accepted, and they are happily married with children to this day!      Short term Mission trips can be valuable, rewarding experiences. Other groups  visiting and involving have been from 7-10 people. Please contact us if you have interest. It is surely God’s plan to cross the street to the poor and needy on the other side. God will surely bless anyone who would cross an ocean, to outreach to the poor. The promises of Isaiah 58 are for the doers of God’s word. We would be glad to pray about your potential mission trip, to partner with us on the streets of Manila. We trust that you will be a blessing, and that God will move powerfully in your life also! Back Why Involve Involving in ministry to the poor is life changing. Imagine if you were walking with your 8 year old child along a street past a homeless family. The way that you respond is your example to your child. You have a chance to show that your God is a God of compassion and action! Your child will watch and imitate what you do or not do. Jesus said, “whatever I see The Father doing, I do. If you have seen me, you have seen The Father.” As Christians, we know God is watching, and drawing us to walk closer and closer with Him. When churches, Pastors, and Volunteers involve in ministry to the poor, it glorifies God. Even if you are in another country, your involvement through prayer and financial support enable more workers to involve, and more needy people to be reached.
